Saharan Dust Keeps Hurricanes At Bay

We'll see milky sunshine this week as Saharan Dust makes its way across the Atlantic toward South Florida. Weather Channel Meteorologist Ray Stagich says this could be the biggest such event in some 50 years with the greatest effects happening on Thursday and Friday.

High pressure over the Atlantic Ocean combined with dry conditions and the Saharan dust can subdue tropical activity.

Forecasters expect the tropics to remain quiet this week.
