The Florida Department of Health has turned down 5.7 million doses of COVID vaccines from the federal government as a waning demand here continues.

One Palm Beach County Commissioner wants to look at new ways to convince people to roll up their sleeves.

"I think that we've reached a plateau. Everybody who wanted to get vaccinated is already vaccinated."

Maria Sachs says she'd like the state to help provide incentives like boating, fishing and hunting licenses in exchange for getting their coronavirus shots.

Vaccine doses turned down by Florida are sent to other states.
