Nothing's Gonna Stop Her From Seeing Her Husband

Even a pandemic couldn't stop a woman in Jacksonsville, Florida from seeing her husband in an assisted-living facility.

Because of the coronavirus lockdown, Mary Daniel went 114 days without seeing her husband Steve who has Alzheimer's.

She decided to take matters into her own hands and emailed the executive director, "What do I need to do to get in there? Can I volunteer? Can I bring a therapy dog? Can I get a job?"

At first, her requests were ignored.

But, then she was contacted about a part-time job at the facility as a dishwasher. She quickly said yes.

The job allows her to visit her husband regularly and she says she's forever grateful.

Florida's governor recently extended the state's emergency order for 60 days, including visitor restrictions at nursing homes.
