SFL School Boards Discussing Plans Ahead Of Next Year's Start

School may be out for the summer throughout South Florida, but district officials can't take vacations with so many decisions left to be made about coronavirus concerns and next school year.

Broward school board members are set to hold a workshop on Tuesday to outline reopening options, a leaked copy includes students going to classrooms twice a week, staggering school times, and continuing distance learning for most high schoolers.

No options are off table as school officials from Palm Beach to Miami-Dade try to outline plans for the fall.

Miami-Dade anticipates rolling out a preliminary reopening plan on June 24th.

Some of the same ideas are being discussed in Palm Beach.

Palm Beach School Board Member Dr. Debra Robinson thinks they need to be prepared if traditional school gets the green light.

Palm Beach school board members discussed their various proposals yesterday ahead making a final decision by July 15th.

Dr. Debra Robinson thinks hybrid schooling is the answer.

A final decision is expected by July 15th in Palm Beach with school set to begin on August 10th.
