Some Palm Beach County businesses are collecting donations for victims of Idalia.

"Whenver there's a natural disaster, we always try to be a donation center."

Ron Katz owns a Midas auto shop in West Palm Beach and a Pet Supplies Plus store in Boynton Beach. At both locations, he's collecting items like food, clothing, diapers and bottled water.

"My logic has always been, if it ever happened to us we'd want help as well. And if we can help people that have had something catastrophic, it's time for us to jump into action."

He's been doing this after disasters over the past few years.

Katz tells CBS 12 News he plans to collect the items over the next couple of weeks. Then, he'll either rent a truck and drive the donations up to the Big Bend or find another business to help him get the items to those who need them.

The Midas is located at 2253 Military Trail, near Okeechobee Boulevard.

The Pet Supplies Plus is located at 4880 Woolbright Road.
