Sambora was prodded about his old band by Metro while walking down the red carpet at the Music Industry Trust Awards in London, and offered some encouraging news.
"It's a possibility," the guitarist said of a hypothetical reunion with Bon Jovi. "We're talking a bit."
Sambora abruptly left Bon Jovi in 2013, citing "personal reasons."
While he was often frustrated by the creative direction of the band, he later explained that the overriding reason for his departure was the need to spend more time with his then-teenage daughter, Ava.
Sambora had little contact with Bon Jovi until 2018, when he reunited with the band at its induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Most accounts say the evening went smoothly, and Jon Bon Jovi has maintained that he would welcome a return from his former first-mate.
Speaking with Metro, Sambora hinted that a Bon Jovi reunion could take place at next year's Glastonbury festival.
Bon Jovi has never played the famed British music festival, though Sambora made an appearance there with Dolly Parton in 2014.
