A man riding his bike near Miami-Dade College's Kendall campus finds himself swarmed by cops this morning.
It was a false alarm.
"The person that was detained had a bookbag on, a military-style bookbag, that had an umbrella coming out of the bookbag that looked like a rifle," said Miami-Dade Police Detective Luis Sierra.
While it was a false alarm, Sierra is actually thanking the vigilant person who called the police reporting the suspicious person.
The school was briefly put on lockdown while the investigation took place.
The man packing the umbrella was released.
