Woman appears in court after opening fire on South Florida food truck

Hialeah, FL - A woman who shot at a food truck with customers nearby appeared in a South Florida courtroom on Thursday. 

26-year-old Jennifer Hernandez has been charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder and is currently being held on no bond.

According to police, Hernandez left multiple vehicles with bullet holes but no one injures during the April 20th shooting in Hialeah.

On April 20th, the Hialeah Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at a food truck that uses the parking lot of a closed car dealership to sell food.

Responding officers found multiple vehicles with bullet holes and three spent shell casings at the scene.

The food truck’s owner told police he was preparing food when numerous shots were fired in his direction.

On May 12th, detectives received a call from an anonymous caller who provided the defendant’s name.

Hernandez was arrested and remains in jail.
